    I believe that the ergonomic hooks last longer than the solid plastic ones. The one plastic one I had snapped in two while I was crocheting with it.

  • @AlexLopez0506
    @AlexLopez0506 5 часов назад

    I've been using the plastic hooks until my metal ones show up (if they ever do, my package got delayed AGAIN), and honestly? I've only been doing this for almost a month now so I have very little experience but I firmly believe I never would have learned to manage tension without them. I'm making my first throw blanket with the 6 mm, and I've made a handbag with the 4mm, and I love it. It's so easy to do. I am holding off on amigurumi until the metal ones show up. If they ever do lmao.

      Also, super jealous you found a pink chenille. I've been looking around at my local dollar trees since the beginning and I can't find any. 😭

    What I've started to do is keep a yarn journal for my yarn so that I can throw labels away. I write down the brand and type, color, and weight. I'll tape an example piece of yarn right next to it so that I can see it as well.

    I am a yarn under main... i also use a crochet hook that is all metal and is pencil structured (J hook) like the plastic hooks

    Don’t forget that AI is being developed to make realistic looking videos 13:36 pls be careful!

    • @Cosy.Anjalea
      @Cosy.Anjalea 6 часов назад

      Another way to know it’s AI is if the bg has nothing but vignettes and solid colors and very unrealistic cgi looking shadows. So the penguin one wasn’t really hard.

      @Cosy.Anjalea 6 часов назад

      Oh right, it’s B for the penguin.

    I have never owned or made anything crochet, but I work with AI and I stumbled into your video. To me (knowing nothing of stitches) the biggest giveaway is the excessive shading in AI, overly perfect shapes and nothing ever being set in a real-life-looking setting, like the hat ... I immediately figured out which one was the real one cause AI always makes flat bgs with extra shadow.

    I sometimes forget what I've had for breakfast,never mind what weight my yarn that I bought last year is, and what brand it is, as I may like it very much and would like to buy more. Why? Just why would we remove the labels before using it.

    Hi Elise , I’ve followed your tips on yarn , reducing hook size , tension etc to improve my amigurumi projects. When I make a head , the crown (ie increasing stitches) , there are no holes but when I decrease the holes come back . I know it must be tension so am I holding my hook incorrectly or just need to pay better attention to pulling the yarn in / tighter when decreasing Do you have any tips ?.

    I need to fix my posture in general for creative work tbh. Whether I'm drawing, crocheting, knitting, sewing, etc., I have a tendency to slouch. I know it's really bad for my back but it's so difficult to stop doing it lol

  • @kraziecatclady
    @kraziecatclady 9 часов назад

    Definitely not a whale, but he's still cute. He kind of looks like some kind of goldfish. He'd look even better if you added some kind of long lace-like fins to the sides. I get confused sometimes with legitimate patterns. I think with this one I might realize there's something wrong with the pattern because of there only being one fin and no color swaps listed. With the stitch issue, I probably would have thought they wanted me to single stitch into that last stitch they forgot and if I didn't end up with 8 stitches, I probably would have pulled it out and restitched that row multiple times before looking at the pattern and doing some math to see if it was me or the pattern. Then I would have probably modified it to get me 8 stitches, but probably not the same way you did because I don't really know how to make my own patterns, but I sort of have an idea of how increases and decreases can shape the item. If it didn't look like something from the image, I probably would have spent a good bit of time trying to figure out why and then did my own thing to try to help it out considering I followed the pattern that was provided. I've had a few items I was making that I have modified a bit from the original because I didn't like part of the original and they still turned out really nice. I like the "simplicity" of this pattern, but not the fact it doesn't look like it should and I would probably wonder for a long time what went wrong. I'd probably try looking for videos on RUclips where someone made the pattern and if that didn't work, I'd try emailing the designer for some help which makes me wonder how that conversation would go. Usually the seller has contact info so that's where I'd start. 😂

    Here are some other ways to spot AI artwork and images: 1. Look for words. While AI has certainly gotten better at generating words and letters, large amounts of words can be hard for an image prompt to make well. For example, the bookmark one was a dead giveaway to me because while the AI bookmark itself did look slightly realistic, the words around it looked rough and non-man made. Also, it’s pretty easy to spot a real image when you look at words too. The real bookmark had the word “read” on it which looks pretty darn realistic, and compared to AI text is a pretty easy giveaway. 2. Weird shading and object “fragments”. AI images, no matter how realistic they look, still have some weird shading issues and what I like to call “fragments”. For example, the hangers in each AI photo are pretty obviously fake; if you look at the top of the hangers, there is a shiny blue thing around it that looks like the AI was trying to maybe do some shadow something, but it looks unrealistic. Also something I’ve noticed with a lot of AI artwork is that they try to make the images in some studio-like background. While sometimes it may be hard to spot, when compared to a real image it becomes much clearer to tell apart. AI is getting good, but they still have some pretty significant flaws, and with more people becoming aware of this we can better lull these scams out.

    Crafter's Square does look like worsted but as you know one brand's worsted is another brand's DK. I have used Dollar Tree yarn and I think it is ok. Sometimes you just need an inexpensive yarn. I would use it for knitted amigarum, but not something that I would be washing. Nice colors. I have not tried the crochet hooks yet. I use my Clover hooks and don't really need anymore because all the sizes are included in my set. I have used plastic crochet hooks and yes they do break after time especially the smaller sizes.

    Yarn labels are important! Weird accusations, do those people work with yarn at all? I mean... Needle size, color or color number, what the yarn is made of, name of the yarn and where you got it from, washing instructions, all that is important info that i really need! And when i cake yarn that iis left over from a project i put the label inside or tape it around the cake, because i need the informations for the next project as well!
